Nahant Dory Club 2008 Guidelines

Membership: The Dory Club offers one membership option to all. The annual fee is $200.00 per family or household. Pram Rack and Racing Fees are additional. Membership renewals are due by May 1st.  This year new members will also be assessed an initiation fee of $100.00 which will be added to the Capital Fund.

Key Card: Key cards are assigned by number and matched to each member. Entrance to the Club is by key card only. Key cards may not be shared with anyone not listed on your membership application.

Pram Rack: The Club has two pram storage racks located on our floats containing 27 spaces. The annual fee is $75.00 and must be submitted along with your annual membership fee and application. Members, who renew by May 1th, are given preference with the space they had the previous year. After May 15th, all remaining unpaid spaces will be available to any member. The approximate width of each space is 55” wide. Prams must fit in the space and not obstruct the walkway. Prams must be stored upside down as to avoid collecting water.

Racing: There is an annual fee of $75.00 for members wishing to participate in Club organized sailboat racing. For non members or any other Club member wishing to participate in only one race, the racing fee is $25.00 per race. All Cruising Class boats must carry State and Federal required safety equipment and have a working VHF radio.

Oar Storage: Oars or paddles may be stored in the Dory Club storage room located on the Town Wharf. Your key card will open the storage room door. Please limit storage to one set per family and clearly mark them with your name.

Floats: The two Club floats are available for use by members and their guests only. Please observe the 15 minute tie-up rule. There is no swimming or fishing allowed from the floats.
 
Members wishing to hold a party at the Dory Club must secure approval from the Council at least 2 weeks in advance.   There is a clean-up fee of $40.00 payable to the cleaning service.  Additional information will be posted on the web site at a later date.
