Tuesday Night Kids Opti Sail and Potluck Dinner

Starting the evening of Tuesday May 25th, the group of Optimist sailors and parents who last year established a weekly routine of an evening kids sail and Family pot luck, will kick-off the 2010 season with more of the same fun.

The "Tuesday night Kids sail and Potluck" will be held weekly throughout the rest of the season and is open to all interested families and their children.   The planed routine is to gather at the wharf between 4-5 pm, where the kids will rig their Optis. Given that most of these kids are learning to sail, a handful of parents will join them on the water, shepherding the fleet about the harbor in Lasers. After spending some time bounding about, everybody will get a chance to enjoy a potluck dinner and blissful evening on the patio of the Dory Club.

Understanding that not all families have access to Optis, feel free to come on down to see what its all about and have your kids hitch a ride on another kid's boat so they can enjoy the magic of sailing the most popular kids sailing craft that there is.

 Sunday Laser Racing and Sailing
The Nahant Dory Club Laser fleet is growing and a group of hardy sailors has maintained a monthly sail for the past 18 months. We are looking forward to adding to that considerable momentum as warm weather sailing returns. The group will continue a routine of regular Sunday afternoon sails and informal racing through May and into June, with plans to transition to official one design racing in July (also on Sunday afternoon and Thursday nights if there is interest).
If you have a Laser, bring it down to the wharf and join the good times. If you are interested in trying a Laser, but don't yet have access to one, let John Fulghum or Philip Kersten know, and we'll do our best to help you find a boat to hook you into the fun.
